In Marlborough, a similarly dedicated pair have been raising awareness of Afghanaid’s work in their community for over a decade.
Neil and Lucinda Hall have organised a variety of events in order to facilitate Afghanaid fundraising, and have raised considerable funds themselves through sponsored walks and other activities.
The pair organised two major events at Marlborough College in 2011, which included a two-day seminar entitled ‘Understanding Afghanistan’, as well as a photographic exhibition and raffle.
As well as this, Neil and Lucinda have held a storytelling session in their local church, and a film showing at their local cinema to renew attention on Afghanistan’s humanitarian crisis one year after the Taliban takeover of August 2021.
